What does "curing" mean and is it really necessary?
Harvested my first plant and someone told me I need to "cure" it in jars for weeks. Can't I just dry it and smoke it? What's the point of curing?

Did a side-by-side test once: same plant, one jar cured 1 week, one jar cured 6 weeks. Night and day difference. The 6-week jar was smoother, tastier, and the high felt cleaner. Curing is not optional for quality.

Think of it like aging wine or cheese. Technically drinkable/edible right away, but time transforms it into something special. I cure minimum 4 weeks and the flavor keeps improving for months.

Curing is the difference between meh weed and amazing weed. Here's what it does:
1. **Smooths the smoke** — chlorophyll breaks down, removing harshness
2. **Develops flavor** — terpenes mature and complex flavors emerge
3. **Increases potency** — THC-A converts more completely
4. **Improves burn** — properly cured bud burns evenly with white ash
You CAN smoke uncured bud, but it'll be harsh, taste "green/grassy," and won't show the strain's true character. Even 2 weeks of curing makes a massive difference.
