How to Germinate Cannabis Seeds – Step by Step (100% Success Rate)
After 15 years and hundreds of seeds, here's my bulletproof germination method:
**What you need:**
- Paper towels
- 2 plates
- Distilled water (room temperature)
- Seeds
- Warmth (70-80°F / 21-27°C)
**The Method:**
1. Soak seeds in a glass of water for 12-18 hours (no more!)
2. Wet 2 paper towels until damp, not dripping
3. Place seeds on one towel, fold the other over top
4. Put between 2 plates (creates a dark, humid dome)
5. Keep in a warm, dark spot
6. Check every 12 hours — re-moisten if needed
7. Once taproot is 1/4 to 1/2 inch long, plant it
**Common Mistakes:**
- Using tap water with high chlorine
- Keeping seeds too wet (they drown)
- Planting taproot up instead of down
- Handling the taproot with bare fingers (use tweezers)
- Giving up too early — some seeds take 5-7 days
This method works with any seed from a quality seed bank. I've had near 100% success with Royal King Seeds genetics.

Pro tip: add a tiny bit of hydrogen peroxide to your soak water. It softens the shell and prevents mold. Game changer.
