Feminized vs regular seeds – which should you buy?
See this question a lot so here's the breakdown:
**Feminized Seeds:**
✅ All female plants (99.9%)
✅ No need to identify and remove males
✅ Every seed = a producing plant
✅ Best for growers who want flower, not pollen
❌ Can't breed or make seeds
❌ Slightly higher cost per seed
**Regular Seeds:**
✅ Natural genetics, some say more vigor
✅ Can breed and create new crosses
✅ Cheaper per seed
❌ ~50% will be male (remove them or get seedy bud)
❌ Need to sex plants at 4-6 weeks
❌ Wasted time/space on males
**My Recommendation:**
For 95% of growers: buy feminized seeds. Unless you're breeding, there's no practical reason to deal with males.
Autoflower feminized seeds are the ultimate convenience — all female, auto-flowering, fast harvest. Check Royal King Seeds for a huge selection of both types. 🧬

Hot take: regular seeds do have slightly more genetic diversity and sometimes more vigor. But the convenience of knowing every seed will be a producing female plant is worth the small premium.
For beginners: feminized, always. Don't waste seeds, time, and space on males.

I grew regular seeds my first few years and wasted SO much time pulling males. Switched to feminized exclusively and never looked back.
The only exception: if you want to breed your own cross, you need a male. But for 99% of growers, feminized is the way.
Royal King Seeds feminized genetics have been super stable in my experience. No hermies across 20+ plants.
