Week 5 yellowing, N def or just natural fade?
Running a photoperiod grow, day 35 of flower, and the lower and mid-canopy leaves are going yellow pretty fast. Not just the very bottom fan leaves, maybe 30% of the plant. No spots, no brown tips, just solid yellow going into light green on some of the mid leaves. EC is sitting at 2.1, my N is at roughly 150 ppm in the res.
Here's where i get unsure. I know plants pull N from the fan leaves during late flower, that's normal. But week 5 feels a little early for aggressive fade, at least in my experience. I'm running a custom salt mix at 3-1-2 ratio (N-P-K), and i haven't dropped nitrogen yet because i usually wait until week 6 to start the taper.
So is this more likely the plant just starting its natural fade on its own timeline, or am i actually running low on available N and the roots aren't picking it up efficiently? pH is locked at 6.1 in coco, so i don't think it's a lockout situation. Would love to hear from people who've seen this pattern, especially if you've ran anything like a heavy-feeding indica hybrid into week 7 or 8.
