what RH are you actually curing at these days

Been going back and forth on this for my last few runs. i keep reading 58% to 62% but my current batch of Mimosa i just jarred, i bumped it up to 64% for the first two weeks because i felt like the terps were getting muted too fast at 58. the smell on this pheno is unreal, like fresh squeezed orange rind with a gassy backend, and i did not want to lose that opening her up at 62 felt flat last run. Anyone else chasing specific terpene retention with a slightly higher RH or is that just me convincing myself it matters. curious if there's real logic behind it or if i'm just overthinking the humidity and the terp loss is happening somewhere else in the process. What's your go-to and why. especially if you're curing anything loud and fruity, i want to know how you're babying it.

the 58-62 range is repeated so much it's basically become gospel at this point, but i do think there's something to what you're noticing. my honest take though, the bigger terp killer is probably what happened before the jar. if your dry ran too fast or temps were high during cure the aromatic compounds are already gone before humidity even enters the conversation. that said i've been sitting around 62 on my fruitier autos and i find that's the sweet spot for me personally, anything lower and the cure feels almost harsh too early, anything higher and i start getting paranoid about the moisture content not being where i thought it was when i jarred. the thing i'd actually look at is your burping schedule in that first week. i lost a ton of smell on a run last year and i think i was leaving the lids off too long, like 20-30 minutes at a time, and just airing out all the volatile stuff i was trying to keep. switched to shorter burps more often and it made a noticeable difference. not saying 64 is wrong, just wouldn't assume that's where the terps are being saved if that makes sense. could be a few things working together.
