one plant trained wide beats two plants tall
running a 2x2 with two plants used to stress me out every run. competing canopies, uneven light, and double the smell. cut it to one plant, trained it hard with lst, and the difference was immediate.
smell is the part people underestimate with plant count. two plants in flower don't just smell twice as bad, the combined transpiration and resin output in a small enclosed space gets intense. one plant gives your carbon filter a fighting chance.
i flip when the canopy fills the net, not on a timer. that way the whole screen lights up and i'm not wasting vertical space on a lopsided grow. keeps the tent footprint tidy too, which matters when you're working in a closet and need to actually get your arms in there.
the specific takeaway: if your filter is struggling and you're running multiple plants, drop to one and train it wide. cheaper fix than buying a new filter.
