Scrog net sitting at about 65% right now
Week 6 of veg and the net is starting to look real promising. Running a 60x60cm net at 40cm height above the fabric pots, two plants underneath, both topped at node 5. Right now the fills uneven, left plant is more aggressive and probably sitting at 40% coverage on its own, the right one is maybe 25%. Still got time to let her catch up before i flip.
What i'm doing is tucking every day, sometimes twice. Any new growth that pokes above the net gets guided horizontally and pinned down with soft wire ties. The idea is to get every main stem running parallel to the net surface before flowering hits. Once you flip and the stretch starts, those tucked sites shoot straight up and become your canopy, all at the same height. That uniform canopy is the whole point.
The structure underneath is getting bushy and i did a light defoliation two days ago, just pulling leaves that were blocking major bud sites below the net. Left everything above the net alone for now. Some growers strip heavy at this stage but i prefer to go light and come back again in a week rather than stress the plant right before flip.
Planning to flip to 12/12 once i hit around 80% net coverage, probably 10 more days at this rate. Strain is Zkittlez so i'm expecting a solid stretch, maybe 60-70% above current height, which should pack that net in tight by week 3 of flower.
Post a pic of your scrog if you're running one right now, always good to compare net heights and training approaches. Curious what spacing other people are using on their net squares too.
